Sure, efficiency is a critical factor to consider, but there are others that are equally important. Below are two more factors you should give weight to when installing a boiler.
Energy Source
Boilers heat water, and then the heated water (or steam) is distributed throughout the house or everywhere heating is required. This means your boiler needs a source of energy to heat the water, and there are various sources of this energy. Below are the most common energy sources for boilers.
Gas
These boilers use either natural gas or propane. Gas boilers tend to be very efficient, but they are relatively expensive to run because gas isn't exactly cheap. Additionally, there are places without a gas supply.
Oil
The main thing to know about oil-fired boilers is that you need a reservoir (typically an underground tank) to store the fuel. The tank installation might add to the initial expense of oil-based heating. However, oil burns cleanly and lubricates boilers, leading to low maintenance costs.

Steam Radiation
The water is heated into steam, which is then distributed throughout the house via a system of tubes installed under the floor and within the walls.
Hot Water Radiation
This method works the same as steam radiation. The main difference is that it is liquid water, and not steam, which flows through the radiant pipes. Hot water radiation makes it possible to control temperatures for different parts of the house independently.
Hydrant Floor Heating
In this case, the heated water flows into a large tube under the floor and not a series of pipes, as is the case with the other systems. The large tube acts as a radiator that heats the room above it. This method is best for heating single rooms or specific areas. You may need to install a tube under each room and control each tube independently if you want efficient heating of the whole house using this method.
